Located at the Italian Home’s main campus in Jamaica Plain, our School Vacation program offers children therapeutically-driven tutoring services, access to therapeutic groups and engaging activities, and opportunities to interact with peers in various social settings, both on campus and in the community.
Our cohesive and comprehensive program strives to prepare children with the self-confidence, emotional intelligence, interpersonal competency, and intrapersonal awareness necessary for continued success.
All staff maintains a therapeutic rapport with each child, allowing children to receive constant reinforcement for demonstrating socially expected behavior, problem solving, conflict resolution, and management of emotions, as well as support with challenging negative thinking patterns and inaccurate appraisals of social interactions and/or social problems in real time. Ongoing staff collaboration and consultation with the family helps facilitate the social/emotional and personal development of the children and families we serve during the school vacation weeks.
